Fair Lawn, New Jersey
One of many public buildings designed by The Ives Group, Architects/Planners, The Fair Lawn Rescue Squad is a two story masonry building finished with residential siding. Despite the building’s emergency mission it was designed to be sensitive to the community and the homes nearby. Approximately 3000 SF per floor, it houses vehicles, equipment, offices, training area, and support facilities for the Rescue Squad. The building is used for fundraising functions. Our office developed the initial design concept and presented it to the Zoning Board. This volunteer organization was guided through the construction process. The photo taken years afer the original construction was completed shows that the facility had stood up well to the test of time.
