Bronx, New York
The Ives Architecture Studio worked with the Related Companies to design “The Hub” on a vacant 88,000 SF parcel at Third Avenue & 156th Street in the Bronx. The new two level building contains 72,000 SF of retail space and the 75,000 SF NYC Department of Finance (DOF) on the second floor. An abandoned city parking garage was refurbished to accommodate 265 cars and an additional 24,000 SF of retail stores. A unique stainless steel mesh system was draped over the aged garage to give it a contemporary appearance.
Our staff prepared construction documents for the project and performed construction services. We worked with Rite Aid, Staples and Foreman Mills on their designs and tenant fit-ups. The Ives staff also prepared the construction documents for the project and was involved with construction administration. Michael Sackler, AIA led our team during the construction process and Joel Ives, AIA is the Architect of Record.
