The Ives Architectural Studio converted an abandoned 22,000 SF warehouse at 415 Montgomery Street in Jersey City into a state-of-the-art Emergency Vehicle Facility and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Training Center. The Liberty Health garage operation maintains a fleet of 35 emergency vehicles which respond to about 90,000 incidents a year, which is one of the highest volumes in the state. Our staff developed new design concepts for this “adaptive reuse” to bring the construction within budget and provide a new home for Operations, Education, Billing and Fleet Services Division for Liberty Health. A vehicle repair bay and indoor parking for emergency vehicles was provided to keep vehicles in good shape and ready for emergency response.
